“Pěruška’s and Vocetková’s staccato bowing and meticulously timed
plucking cemented the foundation on which pianist Jan Vojtek
exhibited nothing short of dynamic genius ”
“Trio Bohémo captivated with soaring virtuosity...all three soloists gave deeply
inspiring performances, enhanced by their meticulous musical interplay”
Trio Bohémo (Matouš Pěruška – violin, Kristina Vocetková – cello, Jan Vojtek – piano) has rapidly established itself as a major presence on the international chamber music scene. In just five years, the ensemble has achieved remarkable success, winning First Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, as well as the prestigious Parkhouse Award in London and top honours at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria.
The trio has since made acclaimed debuts at major venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, Wigmore Hall in London, and Stoller Hall in Manchester, and has appeared at leading festivals including the Prague Spring Festival, Schwarzwald Musikfestival, and Festival van Vlaanderen Gent. In 2024, Trio Bohémo released its debut album on Supraphon, featuring works by Smetana and Schubert.
“A supremely assured debut recording, full of sensitivity and subtlety”
The recording was selected as Classical Album of the Week by The Guardian, which described the performances as “utterly convincing,” while BBC Music Magazine awarded it five stars, praising the Smetana as an “extraordinary standout.” The album was also named Debut Album of the Year at the 2024 Presto Music Awards.
Engagements during the 2025-2026 season include their New York City Debut, concerts in Canada (Vancouver, Montreal, Ontario), Las Vegas Chamber Music Festival (NV), Shandelee Music Festival (NY) or performances in Honolulu (HI) and San Francisco (CA). Upcoming European highlights include multiple performances at the ISA Festival (AT), where the trio was invited to be the ‘Ensemble in Residence’, Dachstein Festival (AT), Barnes Festival (UK), Shaldon Festival (UK), Lake District Music Festival, extensive touring in Ireland and concerts across Denmark, Norway, England and Czech Republic.
Trio Bohémo was a member of the European Chamber Music Academy from 2020 to 2022, where they studied with distinguished mentors including Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt, and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. With the generous support of Dr Jan Telenský, Matouš Pěruška performs on an exceptional copy of the Antonio Stradivari ‘Willemotte’ violin by Florian Leonhard, while Kristina Vocetková plays a finely crafted cello by Fausto Maria Bertucci.
