Curation & Projects

Hennessey Brown Music has created a schedule of world class performers with an outward looking and collaborative spirit, determined to keep making great music happen.

Our approach is Building from the musicians outwards. We also promote and curate new projects with quartets, orchestras, living composers, choirs, soloists and other concert series and agencies. We aim to find the best possible opportunities for our artists, whilst being flexible and understanding the constraints of a concert series, festival or budget. We are passionate about inclusivity in the music industry and aim to promote and work with very diverse talent.

Supporting charities such as Work Mind and Oakleaf Enterprises is very important to Hennessey Brown Music. We feel a heartfelt empathy and can identify with the people that are supported by these charities. People in recovery from or suffering with mental health issues, such as addiction, bipolar, OCD and anxiety. Our co-director Jonathan Hennessey-Brown lives with bipolar and is in recovery himself. Cressida and Jonny have for many years, worked with mental health charities by increasing awareness through blogs, radio interviews, as well as newspaper articles. They have raised thousands of pounds through sponsorship, concerts, as well as donating percentages of album sales as members of Santiago Quartet.

Our Concert Series, presently based in Guildford, has at its core, the desire to bring diverse and exciting concerts of the highest standards to people of all ages and backgrounds. We see no genre as superior to another and have great respect for the past, the beauty of standard classical music repertoire and how it has shaped the way in which composers of all genres create their music today.

As we expand to other areas of the country, we look forward to collaborations with jazz performers, fusions with electronic music, orchestras, choirs, as well as other concert series. Collections for mental health charities will continue at every opportunity. There is no collaborative artistic project that we will not consider assisting to curate.

To keep curating, as well as creating great music and opportunities for artists we do need your support. Please click on the link for more information on donating to Hennessy Brown Music.
